St Johnstone WFC: Leah Sidey signs

St Johnstone WFC have added to their squad ahead of the midweek game against Gartcairn with the signing of midfielder Leah Sidey.

Leah, who impressed as a youngster at Jeanfield Swifts Girls, has most recently been playing her football with Dundee United in SWPL1.

She has been training with the squad and will be available for selection for the trip through to Airdrie on Tuesday.

“The manager really attracted me to the club as I know he can develop me as a player and he wants the best for me in football,” Leah said.

“Training has been very good so far. All the sessions are different and have different objectives. The girls put good demands on each other and the coaching staff are very good at bringing the best out of us.

“Everyone in the team has been so welcoming and great to be around. I already feel part of the team and I’m ready to work hard with them until the end of the season and pick up some results. I really want to progress with Saints and build up my confidence.”

Manager Josh Henderson said: “Leah is a player that I know well and she brings experience from playing in SWPL1. She has quality that will strengthen our squad.

“She is a player that will help push us forward for the rest of the season and I’m really looking forward to working with her.”
