U18s
Preview: U18s v Morton (A)
18th September 2024
The under-18s return to Club Academy Scotland Performance League action this Friday evening and face an away game against Greenock Morton.
It has been a solid – and unbeaten – start to the league campaign for the young team, who have already picked up wins against Dunfermline and Inverness as well as a draw at home to Ross County.
Kick-off against Morton at Parklea will be 7.30pm and captain Dom Shiels was on hand this week to preview the fixture.
“We’ve been keeping our fitness up in training but we’re looking forward to getting back to the league action against Morton,” Dom said.
“We’ve made a solid start to the season and we always want to win every game we play in. Adding another three points is crucial.
“We’re working well together and have worked out each other’s strengths and weaknesses. I think we’ll just continue to improve as the season moves on.
“Morton will be a good side. They have made a good start to the season too, but we’ll try to play our own football, pass the ball around and take our chances when they come.”
Brodie Dair, who has been starring for the U18s this season, was included in the first team’s matchday squad for last Saturday’s game against Hibs.
Dom was pleased for his team-mate and explained to the club’s official website: “It is a nice reminder for us all to keep on going and your chance can come. We all know that we need to keep working hard.”
