St Johnstone WFC: Hamilton (H) preview

After a free weekend, St Johnstone Women are back in action this Sunday when we take on Hamilton Accies at the Riverside.

Kick-off for this one is 1pm.

Head coach Josh Henderson was on hand to preview the action as Saints will look to bounce back to winning ways after narrowly losing out to Boroughmuir Thistle last time out.

“We always enjoy playing at home and I feel recently our matches at home have been our best performances,” he said as Saints gear up for four home matches in March.

“We are looking at these fixtures coming up and aiming to go on a little run of form. We want to pick up as many points as possible and we also have our Scottish Cup quarter-final against Aberdeen in there too. It is an exciting time for the team.

“The players trained as normal last week despite not having a game and now we have just been preparing for Hamilton. We know it’s going to be a tough game, they are top of the league.”

On the importance of support from fans, Josh added: “We have seen more fans down at the games in recent times and that has given the girls a real boost.

“The more fans that can come down to cheer us on really gives us huge motivation to drive forward and get success on the pitch.

“Any supporter who is available to come down and watch us, please do. Come and see what we are all about.”
