St Johnstone WFC: Gartcairn match rescheduled

St Johnstone WFC’s league fixture against Gartcairn this Sunday (January 12) has been postponed and rescheduled.

The match at MTC Park in Airdrie will now take place on Tuesday, January 14 with a kick-off time of 7.45pm.

Manager Josh Henderson said: “You need to accept what the weather is like in Scotland at this time of year and just hope that the disruption is kept to a minimum.

“It is disappointing when games are called off, but our players are really looking forward to getting back out on the pitch. We felt the break came at the wrong time so the quicker we get into the games, the better.”

Looking ahead to Tuesday night, he added: “Both league games against Gartcairn have been close and there hasn’t been much in it at all. We will expect another tight one against them this time.

“We know that, on our day, we can get a result. But we need to make sure we are at it from the first whistle.

“Everyone has been training well. There are a few slight injuries, but nothing too serious. We’re making sure the squad is ready to attack the rest of the season.”
