Squad update: Dundee (A)

Simo Valakari provided a squad update to the broadcast media ahead of our trip to Dundee this Saturday.

The new head coach is now able to take his place in the dugout tomorrow afternoon.

Midfielder Cammy MacPherson will remain unavailable (hip) and striker Uche Ikpeazu (knee) also misses out as he continues his recovery to full fitness.

“Unfortunately Cammy is still out and Uche too, but he is working very hard,” the head coach explained. “But the rest of the players are ready to go.

“Uche was running on Friday, the best I have seen him. We’re just getting his fitness back.”

Defender Bozo Mikulic is unavailable for selection for tomorrow's match.

“The most important thing is that we bring the right type of players in, the right type of characters to help the team,” the head coach continued.

“I worked with Bozo before and he is a good professional. He always thinks about the team first. His qualities, he is a strong defender, a big man, he is fast enough and is good with the ball. He is naturally left-footed too.

“He will bring more competition to our team and that is what I want. The defence gives you the foundation.”
