Preview: U18s v Livingston (H)

Our under-18s are back in Club Academy Scotland Performance League action this Friday evening.

Livingston are the visitors to the McDiarmid Park astroturf and kick-off is scheduled for 7.30pm. As always, supporters are more than welcome to attend.

Forward Murray Binnie is hoping as many fans as possible can come down to back the team. Admission is free of charge.

“We have had mixed results against Livingston this season and we know they are a good team,” Murray explained.

“But we have had a solid week of training and will look to enter the game with intensity. It really helps us when we see a crowd down watching on a Friday night. It can help give everyone that extra boost.”

The young team were last in competitive action last month when they lost out in the CAS Cup semi-final against Greenock Morton.

“It was very disappointing against Morton and the boys know that,” Murray said. “But it could be good for us in terms of taking lessons from it.

“Some of the goals we gave away were unacceptable and we need to remain focused throughout the 90 minutes of a game.

“We know there are more tough games to come and, as I’ve said before, there are no easy matches in the league. Again, I know that if we all play well and work together then we can get a positive result.”

The U18s currently sit second in the Club Academy Scotland Performance League.
