LAST TIME OUT: SAINTS

It was a story of fine margins on Sunday as Saints lost 2-1 to Hearts at McDiarmid Park.

The Jambos won thanks to a double from Elton Kabangu and the on-loan forward got his first of the match on 36 minutes when he slid in to turn in a pass from Lawrence Shankland from close range at the back post. A VAR check then confirmed that the Belgian striker was just onside when he connected with the ball.

Saints were back on level terms eight minutes into the second half when Adama Sidibeh got on the end of a Graham Carey cross to head the ball home from close range. Sam Curtis then had a good chance to put Saints ahead however, Craig Gordon made an excellent point blank save to keep the score level.

Saints weren’t level for long as Hearts regained the lead on 57 minutes as Kabangu got on the end of Shankland’s through ball before slotting it past Andy Fisher.

Drey Wright then thought he had levelled the match for Saints on 68 minutes when his header went in off the crossbar however, it was ruled out for a marginal offside. The fine margins continued for Saints when, with 10 minutes remaining, Carey saw his effort from a Stephen Duke-McKenna free kick go agonisingly wide of the far post.

LAST TIME OUT: ROSS COUNTY

The Staggies picked up a big win over Dundee last time out in the William Hill Premiership.

Goals from Kieran Phillips, Akil Wright and Noah Chilvers secured the victory in Dingwall.

Dundee had gone ahead early in the contest through striker Simon Murray.
