Saints visit Livingston tomorrow looking to bounce back to winning ways as the Scottish Premiership enters its business period.

David Martindale’s Livi have already been relegated from Scotland’s top flight but the West Lothian outfit will still pose a tough test at Almondvale.

Matt Smith previewed Saturday’s fixture with the broadcast media today and the midfielder is confident that he and his teammates can gain a positive result.

He said: “Training has been good, it has been intense and sharp. The lads are in a good place heading into the last three games.

“As a group we know how important they are. We are positive and we know the job that we have to do.

“If we win games of football then we are going to be safe. We just have to do that and hopefully it will work out well.

“Pressure is part of the job. You just have to get on with it and try to enjoy it as much as you can.

“We aren’t really at the stage where we can sugar coat it. We know as players that it really is a massive game for us.

“If we get a positive result tomorrow and other results go our way, it then makes the next game even bigger.

“The next three will be absolutely massive, it is cliché but we have to look at each one individually and tomorrow is a great opportunity for us to get three points and build confidence.”

On the threat of Livingston, Smith added: “It is a difficult one because it [relegation] could maybe relieve a little bit of pressure off them and they could play with a bit of freedom.

“It is always difficult playing at Livi with the pitch and the way they play. So yeah, we have prepared that it will be a normal away day at Livi.

“We are not looking at it any differently since they are relegated. It will be a difficult task for us to get a result and we need to treat it as best as we can.”
