LAST TIME OUT: SAINTS

Our third fixture in the Premier Sports Cup ended in disappointment on Tuesday when we went down 3-2 against Alloa Athletic at the Indodrill Stadium.

There was nothing to separate the sides in the opening half but, after the break, the hosts took the lead through Morgyn Neill. However, Benji Kimpioka instantly hit back to level the game with a neat finish after breaking into the box.

We were reduced to 10 men on 64 minutes when Aaron Essel was sent off and Alloa would then add two late goals, both through Luke Rankin.

Defender Jack Sanders pulled one back in stoppage time before referee Colin Steven blew the final whistle.

LAST TIME OUT: EAST FIFE

East Fife enjoyed a productive evening on Tuesday by defeating Brechin City 4-0 in their latest Premier Sports Cup Group F fixture.

Dick Campbell’s side made a quick start to the game and were three up at the break thanks to goals from Liam Newton, Scott Shepherd and Nathan Austin.

Austin added the fourth early in the second half to round off a comfortable victory for the Fifers, who now sit second in Group F.

PRE-MATCH QUOTES

Defender Jack Sanders spoke to Saints TV after Tuesday evening's game and is looking for an immediate reaction this weekend.

He said: “It was really disappointing for the supporters who travelled in good numbers. We let them down, let ourselves down and let the staff down. It wasn’t good enough and the goals we conceded were really sloppy.

“We have good character in the dressing room and we need to come together to improve performances. We need to make sure we put things right on Saturday.”

MATCH PROGRAMME

The match programme with interviews from around the club and interesting features such as taking a trip down memory lane will be available inside the turnstiles and from the club shop. The price of a programme is £3.50.

If you cannot make it down in person, the match will be shown live on SaintsTV to international subscribers. Supporters in the UK will also be able to watch the action via Premier Sports, full information can be found HERE.
