Match report: St Johnstone U18s 2-2 Dundee U18s

Our under-18s shared the spoils with Dundee in their latest Club Academy Scotland Performance League fixture.

In a competitive contest on the McDiarmid Park astroturf, Saints found themselves two goals ahead before being pegged back by the visitors.

Brodie Dair opened the scoring with just five minutes clocked when he produced a neat finish from close range past Dundee keeper Alastair Graham.

Saints then doubled their lead just after the half hour mark, when Murray Binnie fired home high into the net following some quick counter-attacking build-up.

Our lead was reduced by one shortly before the half-time interval when substitute Liam Byrne pounced on a goalmouth scramble to find the back of the net.

Saints had chances to go two ahead again early in the second period, but some smart Dundee defending denied both Binnie and substitute Jacob Fleming.

With five minutes remaining, Dundee found an equaliser when Brayden Bruce curled home a stunning free-kick.
