Match Preview | Hearts (A)

St Johnstone travels to Hearts tonight looking to kickstart their season and start climbing the table toward safety.

A win tonight for Callum Davidson’s side could see them jump above Dundee.

The Perthshire men are looking to break their nine-game run without a win, only picking up a point against St Mirren.

Hearts have started the season well with the Jambo’s currently sitting in 3rd position. The Edinburgh side has an impressive record at home this season, having only lost at the hands of champions, Rangers.

St Johnstone comes into this match off the back of a disappointing 3-1 defeat to Celtic at McDiarmid Park. However, Saints will be hoping the new arrivals of Nadir Ciftci, Tony Gallacher and Dan Cleary bring a change in results and more importantly, some goals.

Callum Davidson will still be without David Wotherspoon and Cammy MacPherson through injury. Craig Bryson will also be side-lined for around 6-8 weeks after suffering an injury on boxing day against Celtic.

The players are raring to go and are looking forward to a tough test against an in-form Hearts side, in front of a packed out Tynecastle stadium.
