Saints will be looking to build on Saturday’s huge win over Ross County when they welcome Hearts to McDiarmid Park tomorrow evening.
Craig Levein’s side picked up a crucial three points in the Highlands thanks to an expertly taken Benjamin Kimpioka finish as the club moved into ninth position in the Scottish Premiership.
Steven Naismith’s Hearts are next up for Saints, with the Edinburgh club currently riding high in third spot in Scotland’s top-flight.
Ahead of Wednesday’s game, manager Levein said: “Three points at the weekend was the most important thing. We worked extremely hard and defended well.
“The win over Ross County should add confidence. Results have been fairly good and we have played some good football at times. My challenge is to increase consistency.
“Hearts are in good form. We have the threat of Lawrence Shankland to contend with, he has had a fantastic season. We will have to be alert.”
The manager also provided an injury update on Liam Gordon, Matt Smith and Dan Phillips, who were all missing from the Saints squad against Ross County.
He said: “I don’t think Liam, Matt or Dan are going to make the Hearts game.
“They have all had varying degrees of muscle strains, it has been unfortunate. All three of them should hopefully be back for Sunday. They are more strains than anything serious.”
