First Team
PREVIEW | Celtic (A)
11th March 2024

After a free weekend, Saints are back in action this Saturday when we visit Celtic in the Scottish Premiership.
Craig Levein's side will be aiming to build on our previous two fixtures that saw us defeat Aberdeen at Pittodrie before fighting back for an important point against Livingston at McDiarmid Park.
Here is everything you need to know about this weekend's game...
When is Celtic vs St Johnstone?
This weekend's match takes place on Saturday with a 3pm kick-off at Celtic Park.
Previous meeting
The last time Saints and Celtic went head to head was back in December at McDiarmid Park. Diallang Jaiyesimi put Saints ahead on 40 minutes, which saw us lead at half-time, but a second-half comeback from Brendan Rodgers' side ultimately ended in defeat.
Goals from Callum McGregor, Matt O'Riley and James Forrest earned Celtic the three points.
Last Time Out: Saints
Saints had a fixture free weekend last week, but before that the team earned a hard fought point at home to Livingston.
Striker Nicky Clark popped up with a well-timed header to cancel out an Andrew Shinnie first-half goal to ensure Saints remained unbeaten in an important week for the club after victory over Aberdeen at Pittdorie.
Last Time Out: Celtic
Celtic were also involved against Livingston in their previous fixture. Brendan Rodgers' side defeated the Lions in the Scottish Cup quarter-finals at the weekend.
A Daizen Maeda hattrick and a late Kyogo Furuhashi goal ensured a 4-2 victory for the Parkhead outfit, with Daniel MacKay and Tete Yengi scoring for David Martindale's visitors.
