A thank you from Saints Fans Supporting Foodbanks

St Johnstone Fans Supporting Foodbanks (SFSF) made a real difference across the 2023/24 campaign and remain committed to building on their hard work next season.

Over the course of the most recent season, collections were carried out at 21 home men’s matches and four of our women’s team matches.

And, as a result of these collections, 4870.05kg of food and toiletries were donated to Perth and Kinross Foodbank, while £3061.55 was raised for Saints in the Community.

“It has definitely been a rewarding season,” said Colin MacKay, coordinator of SFSF. “When we started, we didn’t dream that we would collect this much.

“But we are determined to come back next season with a bang and look to, at least, equal our figures for next season.”

Colin thanked both home and away supporters for their generosity across the season.

Saints Fans Supporting Foodbanks have been actively collecting supplies in front of the Ormond Stand at McDiarmid Park on matchday since the beginning of April last year.

“Throughout the season, it has been absolutely fantastic from both home and away supporters,” Colin added.

“The moto is hunger doesn’t wear club colours. We are getting fans from all over the country bringing items to Saints Fans Supporting Foodbanks.

“It would be great to see even more teams involved, those who do not yet have collections on a matchday.”

Coupled with the donations for Perth and Kinross Foodbank, Colin is also pleased to be backing Saints in the Community.

He said: “Saints in the Community are great to us and I know the work they do is absolutely brilliant. The money raised goes towards their food-based projects and the support certainly makes a difference.”
