DAVID HEADS TO DUMFRIES
26th July 2016
David Weatherston has left the club and signed for Queen of the South for the next two seasons.
The player, just turned 22, became Owen Coyle's first recruit of the 2007 close season when he joined the club from Queen's Park.
David had netted 18 goals as the Hampden amateurs won promotion from the Third Division by way of the play-offs and his performances and goals tally prompted Saints to pursue their interest, which they had first shown back at the start of 2006/07 season.
Despite interest and at least one firm offer from SPL clubs David opted to come to Perth and his first and what proved to be only goal for the club came in the Challenge Cup quarter final win over Brechin City at the end of September 2007.
He was involved in 33 matches over the course of last season but started only 13 of these and was unable to add to that first goal.
