St. Johnstone are delighted to confirm that midfielder David Wotherspoon and defender Richard Foster have both agreed contract extensions keeping them at McDiarmid Park until the summer of 2019.
Wotherspoon, who turned 27 two weeks ago, joined the club he supported as a boy in July 2013 from Hibernian. Since then he's been pivotal to the club's success in maintaining successive top six finishes in the Scottish Premiership, and was part of that Scottish Cup winning side of 2014.
Upon signing a new contract he said: "Yeah I'm delighted to sign a new contract at the club I grew up supporting. It's a fantastic place to play and I've enjoyed my last four years here and I'm looking forward to the next two years.
"It's great playing for your local team because my family are all close by and can come watch me play week in week out, which is always nice.
"We can achieve anything, we've shown we're not the biggest club in the country but have been up there fighting for the last four or five seasons.
"Alot of the boys that have been here since I joined are still here. It's great at the club to have that stability. When I was at Hibs there seemed to be changes a lot throughout the whole club. Here there are changes now and then but nothing major like at Hibs. Keeping that nucleus of players keeps that stability throughout the team."
Foster signed for Saints in August 2016 from Ross County, and has made the right-back position his own since. To date he's made 18 league appearances and scored one goal.
The former Aberdeen, Bristol City and Rangers player said: "The club came to my agent and said they wanted to offer me a new contract. I was delighted to get the offer because it's good stability for me and it's nice to be at a club where the manager wants me to be here.
"I've loved my time here so far, it's been great. St. Johnstone is that team outside the Old Firm that everyone wants to emulate. Every year we're in the top six, the top four, so coming here and fitting into the team has been very good for myself."
Saints' next home match is against Celtic this Sunday with a 12.30pm kick off. Tickets are on sale now from the McDiarmid Park Ticket Office. Click HERE for more info.
