Taylor Steven and Liam Parker agree new contracts

We are delighted to confirm that Taylor Steven and Liam Parker have both signed new contracts with the club.

Attacking player Taylor has penned a two-year deal while central defender Liam has agreed a one-year extension.

Both youngsters have picked up vital loan experience in recent times and are looking to impress manager Craig Levein in the build-up to the return of competitive football.

Taylor (19), who was on loan at Alloa Athletic last season, said: “I had an off-season programme which I followed so I’m feeling fit and good. We are going to get into even better condition as pre-season goes on and that is something I’m looking forward to.

“Pre-season has been tough so far but hopefully I will get a few games, minutes in the legs and take it from there.

“When you get a chance, you need to take it. That is all you can do. I want to play the games now and get the match fitness up.”

On his successful loan with Alloa, Taylor continued: “It was really good and was nice to get minutes, score some goals and get into the playoffs. I wish them all the best for next season.”

Liam (20), meanwhile, has picked up loan experience at clubs including East Fife, Civil Service Strollers and Edinburgh City.

He said: “I’m really happy to sign this new deal and I’m ready to kick on.

“I was playing every game at Edinburgh City and that was good for me. Getting 90 minutes every week was well-needed and the standard in League One was strong, coming up against the likes of Falkirk and Hamilton.”

Pre-season training has been taking place this week and Liam added: “I’ve missed football so I’m delighted to get back in and I’m already starting to feel much fitter.

“We have friendlies coming up soon and we’ll all just be looking to get minutes in the legs and impress the gaffer. Hopefully this year I can catch his eye.”
