PRE-MATCH QUOTES

Defender Liam Parker previewed Tuesday evening’s match against East Fife and told the official club website: “It was a very good win for us in the last round.

“We were a bit sloppy in the first half of that game but we dug deep to get the winner.

“Now we’re expecting a tough game against East Fife. I have played with them before and know how good they can be.

“But we will look to move the ball and must always have high expectations of ourselves to do well.”

He added: “You always want to impress in these games. Everybody is wanting to play as well as you can to catch the gaffer’s eye.”

LAST ROUND

We advanced to the second round of the competition thanks to a 2-1 win against Brechin City at the end of last month.

Brechin’s Dayle Robertson had opened the scoring at McDiarmid Park with a neat first half finish but we responded after the break and were level through Aaron Essel’s header.

We pushed for the winner and it arrived in the final minute when Connor Smith timed his run perfectly to finish well from Scott Bright’s cross.
