Saints Fans Supporting Foodbanks continue to make a difference
20th February 2024

Saints Fans Supporting Foodbanks are approaching a year in operation and remain more determined than ever to make a difference.
The latest collection took place before Sunday’s Scottish Premiership match against Rangers and 14 crates of food and toiletries were gratefully received for Perth and Kinross Foodbank.
A further £51.16 went to Saints in the Community to help with their food-based projects.
Colin MacKay, coordinator of Saints Fans Supporting Foodbanks, said: “The fans seem to have really taken it to their hearts and you see a lot of the same faces every week.
“They are not just donating one or two items, but a couple of carrier bags full. It really does help to make a big difference.
“People are reading the ‘most wanted’ lists so what is being donated is what the food bank really needs. That is significant to them.
“We have two games to go until we have been in operation for a year and we have now collected five tonnes of donations for Perth and Kinross Foodbank and over £3000 for Saints in the Community.”
The next collection is scheduled to take place before the Livingston home match on Saturday, March 2 (3pm kick-off). As usual, the collection will take place at the corner of the East and Ormond stands.
“We’ll be back out in front of the Ormond Stand at the Livingston game on March 2,” Colin continued.
“While there is a need for this in Perth, myself and the volunteers are very keen to support the food bank - we’ll be there every home game.”
