LAST TIME OUT: RANGERS

Rangers played out an entertaining 3-3 draw with Hibernian at Easter Road on Sunday, January 5.

The Glasgow visitors had raced into a two-goal lead thanks to Hamza Igamane’s double within the opening 20 minutes of the contest.

Martin Boyle hit back for Hibs shortly after the half hour mark before he levelled proceedings after the break from the penalty spot in the 61st minute.

Igamane sent Rangers back in front with little over 15 minutes remaining, only for Rocky Bushiri to head home for 3-3 as the game reached its latter stages.

LAST TIME OUT: SAINTS

It was a disappointing last outing for the Saints as we were defeated 3-1 by Dundee at McDiarmid Park on Sunday, January 5.

The visitors moved into a three-goal lead in the opening 25 minutes thanks to goals from Simon Murray, Seb Palmer-Houlden and Lyall Cameron.

Despite seeing plenty of the ball and creating openings in front of goal, that is how the scoreline stood at the break.

Substitute Josh McPake pulled one back with a lovely low finish in the 67th minute before we continued to push forward in an attempt to reduce the deficit. Unfortunately, we were unable to find another breakthrough.

PREVIOUS MEETING

We last faced off against Rangers at the beginning of December.

Held at McDiarmid Park, we had defended resolutely during the first half and went in for the break with the score locked at 0-0.

We had continued to frustrate the visitors, but they would nudge in front with 63 minutes of the clock. It would prove to be the only goal of the game.

Ianis Hagi’s deep cross was turned into his own net by Jason Holt, who was under pressure from James Tavernier.

We were unable to find a way back into the contest in the half hour that remained.
