LAST TIME OUT: SAINTS
We were defeated 4-0 by league leaders Celtic in our most recent William Hill Premiership fixture.
The match had remained level for the opening half hour and we had defended resolutely before the Glasgow hosts then nudged in front through Nicolas Kühn’s finish.
Trailing by one at the break, Celtic’s advantage was doubled in the 59th minute when Kyogo Furuhashi guided over the line from close range following goalkeeper Josh Rae’s initial save.
Kyogo added another close-range finish soon after before substitute Daizen Maeda rounded off the scoring for what was, in the end, a comfortable win.
LAST TIME OUT: HIBS
Hibernian’s strong run of form continued on Sunday afternoon when they managed to edge out Kilmarnock 1-0 at Easter Road.
It would prove to be a William Hill Premiership fixture of few clear-cut opportunities, but Nectar Triantis would net the only goal of the contest with 25 minutes on the clock. It was his first goal for the capital club.
Kilmarnock were reduced to 10 men midway through the second half when winger Danny Armstrong picked up his second yellow card.
The victory has Hibs sitting seventh in the William Hill Premiership on 24 points.
PREVIOUS MEETING
We last faced-off against Hibs in September when we fell to a 2-0 defeat at Easter Road.
Despite rarely threatening in the early exchanges, Mykola Kuharevich would give the hosts the lead on the stroke of half-time. He bundled over the line from close range after a deep free-kick had been lobbed to the back post.
Hibs would net their second of the match in the 72nd minute when Chris Cadden slipped in Martin Boyle. The Australian international lifted the ball over the advancing Ross Sinclair to secure the victory.
Striker Benji Kimpioka was then shown a straight red card in the closing stages of the match.
