Goalkeeper Andy Fisher joins on loan

We are delighted to confirm the loan signing of Swansea City goalkeeper Andy Fisher through until the end of the season.

The 26-year-old, who has been at the Swans since January 2022, started his career at Blackburn Rovers academy before penning his first professional deal at Ewood Park.

Andy enjoyed loan spells with FC United of Manchester and Northampton Town in 2019, then joined MK Dons in 2020 - which proved to be a pivotal move in his senior career.

He caught the eye of manager Russell Martin and was subsequently signed on a permanent deal the following summer.

Andy went on to make over 60 appearances over two seasons for MK Dons before he was then signed up by Swansea.

Since playing his football in Wales, Andy has featured nearly 50 times and he is now excited to perform for Saints in the William Hill Premiership.

He said: “I am very happy to be here. I am eager to play some games and to prove myself. I am hoping to show everyone what I can do and it is going to be a good challenge.

“The club has shown real interest in me from the start and I now want to come in and help the team as much as possible.

“The head coach told me how much he wanted me and how much he likes me as a goalkeeper and a person.

“I can’t speak highly enough of him and the way he wants to play football suits the way I want to play too. Hopefully we can now come together and do something special.”

On his style of play as a goalkeeper, Andy added: “I like to say I am comfortable with the ball at my feet and I rate myself as a shot stopper.

“I like to keep a high line and sweep up from the back and help the team from set-pieces and crosses. Hopefully I will fit in nicely to the team here.”
