PREVIEW | Diallang Jaiyesimi previews Livingston
1st March 2024
Diallang Jaiyesimi believes Saints set a standard against Aberdeen on Wednesday night and now the winger and his teammates are aiming for consistency.
Craig Levein’s side picked up a huge three points against the Dons at Pittodrie in the Scottish Premiership and now the club are looking to build on that victory against Livingston this weekend.
Jaiyesimi played an instrumental role in Wednesday night’s win in the Granite City with an impressive assist for Benjamin Kimpioka’s goal, and now he is hoping to continue that form into Saturday.
He told the broadcast media: “Wednesday was a massive performance from the boys. Everyone put in 100 per cent and we came away with the win.
“Benji is a willing runner, he is always running in behind, so he made it easy for me to play in that pass for him.
“The link up with Benji worked well so hopefully we can continue building that relationship.
“All in all it was a great team performance and now we move on to the next game against Livingston. We are now hoping for consistency and a run of victories.
“We need to build on our performance against Aberdeen. We set the levels and now we need to keep on going.
“I want to keep my own personal levels up there too. If I can keep up my own performances, then hopefully we can score and create more.”
Looking ahead to Livingston tomorrow, DJ added: “We just have to focus on ourselves really.
“We are in a good place at the moment, hopefully we can just keep on winning games and then we can start to climb up the table.
“It would be massive if we could get a result against Livingston. We could climb a few places.
“Every game is a tough game and this one will be no different. Livingston like to battle and we can bring that as well.
“Whatever team we come up against we just want to keep performing ourselves and do our best.”
