INJURY WORRIES AHEAD OF HEARTS GAME

26th July 2016

Saints head to Tynecastle

It’s back to SPL action tomorrow and a lunchtime kick-off against Hearts at Tynecastle.

Saints last league action ended in frustration a fortnight ago when a controversial goal gave Aberdeen a late winner at Pittodrie and the Perth players and management head to the capital tomorrow determined to ensure that they don’t head back to Perth empty handed.

A closed door game against Falkirk in midweek gave a number of players the chance to get match action under their belts but as previously reported it also saw Martin Hardie pick up a knee injury and he is definitely out of tomorrow’s game. The midfielder could be looking at a lengthy absence – a scan next week will reveal more.

Kevin Moon and Peter MacDonald will come into contention but doubts hang over the fitness of Steven Anderson, Danny Grainger, Graham Gartland and Kenny Deuchar. Irish defender Gartland suffered a shoulder injury at Pittodrie but may make it – fit again Stuart McCaffrey is standing by if that proves not to be the case.

Graeme Smith will be in goal and the keeper has spoken to the Saints Official Website about the game tomorrow. Click the link to listen.

Supporters are reminded that it is a 12.30pm kick off tomorrow due to the rugby international at nearby Murrayfield at tea-time. See below for admission details
