KINFAUNS STABLES R.D.A

Geoff  Brown OBE set up the charity in 2015 to create a riding for the disabled facility. His decision to do so was based on two main factors. Firstly, having owned racehorses for a number of years he was keen to see them serve another purpose when their racing life is finished. The second reason is his wish to give something back to the Perthshire community in return for the support given to his businesses over the years.  

Their self funded charity is dedicated to improving the lives of people with disabilities through the provision of horse riding and horse care. They provide opportunities for therapy, achievement, enjoyment, improving health, well being and self confidence as well as benefiting mobility and co-ordination.  This is done in a safe, fun and supported environment.

Their main objectives are to provide a safe, fun and supportive learning environment to improve the conditions of life for people with disabilities. Some of their clients are recommended to join them by medical professionals. To achieve their goals, they carry out therapeutic riding classes and horse care to provide achievement, enjoyment, build confidence, healthy wellbeing and to benefit mobility and coordination. Their Coaches and dedicated volunteers have a strong passion for the work they do and love seeing the big smiles on riders faces when they are with them. 

Kinfauns Stables R.D.A currently have over 80 disabled participants attending weekly. They rely heavily on a fantastic group of 40 regular volunteers who assist with coaching, leading, side helping, stable work, administration and fundraising.

“I am very proud that we have been able to launch a charity 3rd kit this season with all profits going toward Kinfauns Stables R.D.A.

"Kinfauns Stables R.D.A is a charity setup by our honorary president Geoff Brown OBE and one that he holds extremely close to his heart.

"We decided to go with an all-black kit, whilst incorporating the popular teal and magenta colour scheme into the design after it resulted in the best-selling away kit the club has ever produced last year.

"We feel this has created a striking design that fans will love, resulting in a great product that will also help raise money for a fantastic local charity with strong ties to St Johnstone.

"Having worked closely with Geoff on the design and partnership, he was delighted with the final product and is proud to have his charity at the forefront of this endeavour."
