LIAM TOPS THE 2011/2012 APPEARANCE CHARTS

26th July 2016

Liam Craig was used more often than any other player over the course of the season just ended.

The midfielder started 41 of the club’s 43 league and cup games, scoring 7 goals in the process and along with Dave Mackay he shared the most starts in SPL fixtures – both stalwarts being named in the starting line-up in 36 of the 38 league fixtures.

The figures have been put together by long-serving Club Statistician Brian Doyle and reveal that the nearest challengers to that pair in the SPL appearance stakes were captain Jody Morris and Francisco Sandaza who both started 28 SPL games. The Spanish striker proved to be our most prolific top flight marksman since Paul Wright with 14 league goals and another 3 in cup competitions.

Saints scored 50 goals over the course of the campaign – 43 in the SPL (including 3 own goals scored by the opposition), 3 in the Scottish Communities League Cup and four in the Scottish Cup.
