ST JOHNSTONE 3-3 DUNDEE UNITED - AS IT HAPPENED
26th July 2016
FULL TIME and some slack defending late in the half, coupled with some extreme pressure from the United subs, meant for an entertaining but ultimately disappointing draw.
90 mins+2: Saints win a corner after Maybury does well on the right, but it goes to waste. Enckelman has to look smart saving a snap shot from Dalla Valle.
90 mins: And it's the last action for Sheridan as Sean Higgins comes on up front. There will be a minimum of three extra minutes.
89 mins - Sheridan tries to forge a break on the right, but the big striker is stopped in his tracks for a push on Kenneth.
87 mins: Saints win a corner- and some respite from the constant United barrage - but the visitors are soon on the counter, Dalla Valle shooting on sight to produce a fantastic save from Enckelman.
85 mins: United win a corner, well punched away by Enckelman but only back into the hands of the visitors. Defensive sub for Saints sees Gibson replaced by Alan Maybury.
83 mins: GOAL UNITED - Gunning at the near post as Saints fail to defend a corner and it's a deserved equaliser after a superb passage of play. This game isn't done yet either.
82 mins: United have got their tails up now - chasing every ball and getting Saints on the back foot. Superb cross from Mackay-Steven tests the defence to win a corner.
78 mins: GOAL UNITED - Dalla Valle bundles the ball over from good work on the right by Russell, ensuring a tense end to the game.
76 mins: Last sub for United sees Willo Flood replaced by Gary Mackay-Steven.
75 mins: it's a battle of the midfield at the moment, neither side really able to capitalise. Sheridan looks lively at times but lacks the end product.
69 mins: Sheridan breaks down the left, feeding a tempting cross for Sandaza but it's just too strong and sails through the box.
68 mins: Gunning takes a sore one in an accidental collision, requiring treatment after initially looking flat out. The recent signing from Blackburn looks set to carry on though.
64 mins: Flood with a shot after Craig stood too far off the midfielder - thankfully well wide.
62 mins: United with a second sub, Scott Robertson on for Stuart Armstrong.
59 mins: United with a corner but Saints defend it well. Moments later they have another chance through Russell but the striker gets no power behind it and Enckelman gathers easily.
55 mins: lovely piece of play down the right by Saints but the last pass from Robertson to Sandaza is just a bit too heavy.
53 mins: Sheridan finds the ball at his feet from a corner but the big striker misses a sitter, over the bar from six yards.
51 mins: Danny Swanson replaces first scorer Barry Douglas.
49 mins: Flood with a long pass cross field to Dixon but it overshoots out for a goal kick. Sub coming on for United shortly.
48 mins: Saints on the attack again, Sandaza easing a header in at the near post but he's offside.
SECOND HALF as Saints shoot towards the Ormond end and are immediately in the action, Sheridan shooting from 12 yards but pushed over by Pernis.
HALF TIME and what a scoreline for the home side - United looked run ragged by the end of the half...
45 mins+2: GOAL ST JOHNSTONE scored by Sandaza again, dancing round two United defenders and stroking the ball easily past Pernis for his second.
45 mins: Three minutes of injury time, indicated by the fourth official.
42 mins: since the last goal it's been a midfield battle - Saints with a throw in deep in United territory. Three minutes left in the half plus stoppages.
35 mins: GOAL ST JOHNSTONE and it's a superb free kick from Liam Craig 25 yards out, a low drive inside the near post - superb strike.
32 mins: GOAL and it's that man Sandaza from the spot, making no mistake. Superb finish but a distinctly low key celebration against his old side!
31 mins: PENALTY ST JOHNSTONE - David Robertson takes a sore one in the face from a United player, ref Richmond points straight to the spot.
29 mins: United with a free kick but it flies wide.
28 mins: Davidson limps off, new loan man Willie Gibson comes on. Liam Craig moves to left back.
21 mins: Sandaza turns on the skill down the left, winning Saints a corner. Nothing doing again though, United see it off.
19 mins: Sandaza with a great Cruyff turn and shot, just over the bar.
16 mins: Stupid tackle by McCracken - gives away a free kick in a very dangerous position for United. Flood blasts it just past.
13 mins: Saints with a corner, Morris over the ball. Pinball in the box with 3 shots on goal, UPnited break away with Douglas again looking likely to score but for Frazer Wright's last gasp challenge.
12 mins: Sandaza loses possession but wins a lucky foul as Kenneth clatters him from behind.
10 mins: Sandaza screams for a foul but referee Richmond not interested.
9 mins: United do well again, the ball falls to Dalla Valle but his shot lands in the Ormond - a wake up call for Saints after retaining possession since the United goal.
7 mins: Good build up play by Saints, Davidson crosses into the box for Sheridan to knock down and shoot - good save by Pernis - but Saints win a corner. Cleared by United.
4 mins: Jamie Adams booked for a poor challenge on Douglas.
3 mins: Saints come back with a quick corner but it goes to waste.
1 min: United score through Barry Douglas, Saints caught napping by Stuart Armstrong with a pass to the left, Douglas making no mistake with a right foot shot inside the far post.
