SAINTS LOOKING TO BEGIN POST-SPLIT GAMES IN STYLE
26th July 2016
There is Easter Monday evening football at McDiarmid Park tonight as Saints take on Inverness Caledonian Thistle in the penultimate home match of the season.
Manager Derek McInnes and his players have drawn a line under recent disappointments and are aiming to give fans something to be cheerful about in the remaining five matches of the campaign, starting tonight.
The manager is looking for at least repeating last season’s eighth place finish – a position which would bring with it a seeded place in next season’s League Cup – and sees no reason why his side can’t catch tonight’s opponents for a seventh place finish. A win tonight would take us to within a point of Terry Butcher’s side albeit they have played a game less.
Saints head into the game minus Michael Duberry and Steven Anderson both of who start two-match suspensions. Manager Derek McInnes is able to take up his place in the dugout pending his appeal against his four-game touchline ban.
Caley Thistle have problems too – Ross Tokely and Stuart Duff are both suspended while Johnny Hayes is out injured.
Tonight’s match has a 7.45pm kick-off and don’t forget that cash payers will benefit from reduced prices this evening – just £10 for adults and £5 for Under 18s and Over 65s.
