TIME LINE FROM ST MIRREN PARK

TIME LINE FROM ST MIRREN PARK

26th July 2016

Three changes from Hibs game

90 + 4 mins - It's all over! Liam's late winner has secured the three points. Our second half performance just about merited it. Match report to follow.

There will be three additional minutes. Alan Maybury replaces Sam Parkin.

90 mins - GOAL ST JOHNSTONE!! Chris Millar knocks it into the box and Samuel does well to gain possession and hold it up. He plays it back to Liam Craig who doesn't hit it cleanly but it finds its way into the net ST MIRREN 1 ST JOHNSTONE 2

87 mins - A stop in play for treatment to home player Thomson.

84 mins - St Mirren break quickly with Higdon spreading it wide to van Zanten. He breaks down the right and Higdon is unmarked at the back post. Anderson to the rescue when the cross comes in and he heads away the danger.

81 mins - Free kick to Saints 25 yards out after McGowan takes Chris Millar out. Grainger works it with Liam Craig but then curls the effort over the bar.

79 mins - Michael Duberry is just inches away with a header from a Grainger free kick.

77 mins - Liam Craig is booking number three for Saints.

Wardlaw is booked for a late challenge on Grainger. St Mirren are bringing on McLean and Saints are bringing on Samuel. Peter MacDonald is the man going off.

72 mins - Collin Samuel is called in from his warm up so it looks like he will be introduced.

68 mins - Now Parkin pokes it just wide as Saints keep the pressure on.

67 mins - McAusland heads over as another Mackay cross threatens the home goal. From the corner Mackay's header is cleared off the line.

The game has livened up now and temperatures on and off the park are finally rising.

62 mins - GOAL ST MIRREN. Free kick to St Mirren 20 yards out after an Anderson push and Michael Higdon leathers it. It sounds like it took a touch off someone on the way through and certainly Enckelman was left flat-footed as the ball zipped into the net. ST MIRREN 1 ST JOHNSTONE 1

57 mins - St Mirren's Patrick Cregg is booked.

56 mins - It could and should have been a second. Morris brilliantly releases Taylor and his low cross is dummied by MacDonald but just eludes Liam Craig at the back post.

53 mins - GOAL ST JOHNSTONE!! The goal drought is over! Sam Parkin is the man who has the goal with a great header but Dave Mackay is the man who should get the credit for a great forceful run down the right from the half-way line and he got all the way to the penalty box before lofting the ball over perfectly for Parkin. ST MIRREN 0 ST JOHNSTONE 1

50 mins - Jody Morris fires well over the bar after a misplaced clearance by the home defence.

46 mins - We are off and running again with the floodlights highlighting a pink late afternoon sky.

45 mins - It's half-time. A good strong finish from Saints but it has been relatively even in terms of chances created.

44 mins - Taylor makes an immediate impact, scampering down the right after a a MacDonald head-on. His cross looks like it is inch-perfect for the head of Sam Parkin but McAusland just gets in ahead of the Englishman to head behind for a corner kick. From that kick, Mackay has a header cleared off the line from a MacDonald cross.

40 mins - It looks like Murray Davidson's game is over - he has headed into the dugout clutching his groin. Cleveland Taylor will be the replacement.

33 mins - The best chance of the game as St Mirren break down the right. McAusland releases van Zanten and his cross is met by Higdon who flicks it goalwards but Enckelman stops the effort with his legs when a goal seemed certain.

32 mins - A Grainger corner kick finds Peter MacDonald lurking at the back of the area but his header is gathered by Craig Samson. The former Perth keeper also deals with a Liam Craig header moments later.

30 mins - Free kick to St Mirren 30 yards out after Duberry is penalised for a foul on Wardlaw. It comes to nothing as the referee spots an infringement when the ball is played into the box

27 mins - Saints balls into the box are not of high enough quality at the moment. Steven Anderson is booked for halting Thomson as he breaks forward - no complaints about that one.

21 mins - Great move by Saints involving Duberry, Mackay and Parkin and the last named's lay-off is met by MacDonald who fires just wide.

18 mins - A quick break by the Buddies after Saints lose possession. A corner is conceded and from it Higdon meets the ball, hits it low and Liam Craig is needed to kick it off the line.

16 mins - A booking for Jody Morris after he catches Steven Thomson. No question about the foul - the yellow card seems harsh for a first offence.

15 mins - The home side are looking for a penalty as Wardlaw goes down under pressure in the box chasing a Higdon header but referee Finnie isn't interested.

14 mins - Steven Anderson has tried to release Peter MacDonald down the left on a couple of occasions but has overcooked the pass each time.

9 mins - First hint of a sight at goal for Saints but Peter MacDonald lifts the ball over the bar.

8 mins - Michael Higdon looks as if he could give Steven Anderson a busy afternoon with a lot of what St Mirren are doing being put through him.

5 mins - The sides are just sizing each other up at the moment although the home side have had more possession.

25 seconds - Free kick to St Mirren wide left. The ball comes in and Higdon gets his header in but Enckelman gathers easily.

3.00pm - The teams are ready to kick off - the home side will take the kick-off and shoot towards the St Johnstone support.

2.56pm - Welcome to Paisley for this SPL battle of the Saints. The pitch and roads around the stadium are free of any sign of snow and ice and the winter sun is just about to dip behind the far stand.

Derek McInnes has made three changes to the line-up for this afternoon’s match in Paisley with Alan Maybury, Collin Samuel and Cleveland Taylor all dropped from the side which started against Hibs a fortnight ago – all three are on the bench.

Into the team come Dave Mackay, Liam Craig and Peter MacDonald. That leaves the line-ups looking like this: SAINTS: Enckelman, Mackay, Grainger, Anderson, Duberry, Morris, Davidson, Millar, Craig, Parkin, MacDonald. Subs: Duffy, Maybury, Taylor, Samuel, Durnan, Caddis, May.

ST MIRREN: Samson, van Zanten, Potter, Thomson, Higdon, McGregor, Travner, McAusland, Wardlaw, McGowan, Cregg. Subs: Gallacher, Barron, McQuade, Lynch, McLean, Mooy, Love.

Referee: Stephen Finnie
