Midfielder doubtful for Scotland game

Murray Davidson, was released from hospital yesterday following an overnight stay in Southern General Hospital in Glasgow as they assessed the head and neck injury he sustained in the first half of Saturday’s match at Ibrox.

Murray remains very sore after the clash and the club are liaising with the SFA with regard to his involvement in the Under 21 squad – he is due to travel with them to their European Championship qualifier in Belarus on Friday.

Meanwhile, Andy Jackson, Sam Parkin, Graham Gartland and Steven Milne were among the players who were given 90 minutes of match action in a closed door game against Cowdenbeath at lunchtime today.

Jackson scored twice, and Parkin once in a 4-1 win (Liam Caddis grabbed the other) in a match which Manager Derek McInnes was pleased with in terms of the attitude and commitment shown by those involved.

The draw for the Third Round of the Co-operative Insurance Cup takes place tomorrow afternoon at Hampden Park with Liam Craig attending for the club.

The Under 19s went down 3-0 to Celtic at Lennoxtown on Saturday but Coach Alec Cleland was heartened with what he saw. Alec said: Considering the inexperience of our side, I thought we did very well. We hit the woodwork three times and it would have been interesting to see how both teams would have reacted to one of those going in. The boys should be pleased with their performance.”

The team was: Clark, Sullivan, Lindsay, Rodger, Moffat, Gray, Hendry (Breen), McIntosh, Hutchinson, Steeves, Kane.
