Shaun Rooney

Shaun Rooney joined the Club on as free transfer in the summer of 2020 from Inverness Caledonian Thistle, having signed a pre-contract agreement back in January of that year.

Right-back Rooney - who also lists Queen's Park, Dunfermline, York City and Queen of the South among his former clubs - came through the youth system at Dundee Utd but left before turning professional. He made his first-team-debut for Queen's Park in 2013 and was named their Young Player of the Year the following season.

A former teammate of skipper Jason Kerr at Queen of the South and centre-back Jamie McCart at Caley, Shaun arrived at McDiarmid Park after a solid season in the Highlands where Inverness finished as runners-up in the Scottish Championship.

He made his Saints debut as a second half substitute in the 3-0 defeat to Rangers at Ibrox in August 2020 and made his first start a few days later in the 2-1 victory over Kilmarnock at Rugby Park.
