Young Saints 'keeper Ross Sinclair has been called-up to Billy Stark's Scotland U19 side for their UEFA Euro U19 Qualifiers against Belarus, Andorra and Germany.

Local lad Ross - currently on-loan at Ladbrokes League Two side Brechin City - has been capped once at U19 level and has also represented his country at U18 level too.

The 18-year-old spent part of last season on-loan with BSC Glasgow in the Lowland League and signed a contract extension last year which keeps him tied to the Club until at least May 2021.

Speaking about his latest international call-up, Ross said he is looking forward to being involved with a talented group of players in Billy Stark's squad.

"It's great to be selected," he said, "I wasn't in the last squad but to be brought back in for the Qualifiers is a big thing for me and I'm delighted.

"The loan move to Brechin has played a massive part in it for me because getting first-team experience is really important in my development. I played Lowland League football last year but it's been a step up now in League Two.

"Hopefully I can take that experience into the U19 games and show how good I am to the management team. The plan for me is to keep progressing and in the next few years try to push into the U21s and one day the first-team.

"It's good going away with the national team because you get used to international football from an early age. I've been lucky enough to be in squads in the past and it's always a good experience.

"I just need to work hard and hopefully I'll get a chance to play over the three games and be able to make a good impression."
