Zander Clark

Goalkeeper Zander joined the club on a full-time basis in September 2008 having previously been with Hamilton Accies.

He sustained an injury which kept him out of the game for 6 months and after he was released by the New Douglas Park club Saints moved to snap him up and he played a significant role as the 2008/2009 Under 17 side won their league title.

Zander stepped up to the Under 19s and spent two successful season at that level and to aid his development he went on loan to Elgin City initially until the end of December 2011 but that arrangement was renewed to take in the remainder of the season.  Reports on his progress were sufficiently good for him to be given a contract for season 2012/2013.

Then in October 2013 Zander made his debut for Queen of the South in a 2-1 defeat to Dundee after he joined the Dumfries club on loan initially until January 2014. The loan was then extended until the end of the season as Zander impressed many as he helped Queen's reach the play-offs where unfortunately they lost out to Falkirk.

Zander re-joined Queen of the South for a season long loan the following season. Tommy Wright had the 6’ 3” keeper watched regularly over the course of that campaign and felt he would be an important member of the squad at McDiarmid Park.

Last season Zander made his first team debut when he came on for the red carded Alan Mannus against Dundee United last September. He signed a contract extension in October 2015 which ties him to the club until the end of season 2017/2018.
