Richard Foster

Signed in August 2016 after leaving Ross County, this reliable performer can be used at right or left back. A good defender, he can cause problems as he moves forward with pace on the overlap.

Richard began his career at Aberdeen, being a product of their youth system, and made his first team debut at 17 in 2003. In August 2010, he went on a season-long loan deal to Rangers, returning to Aberdeen the following summer.

In January 2012 Richard joined Bristol City but in July 2013 he returned to Scotland and signed for Rangers on a permanent deal and remained with them until July 2015, when he joined Ross County. Richard, who has also been a Scotland U21 internationalist, had a fine season helping The Staggies win the Scottish League Cup.

Richard made his Saints debut at McDiarmid Park on 20 August 2016 when Saints lost 4 -2 to Celtic. The following Saturday his spectacular goal against Inverness Caledonian Thistle was not enough to earn Saints a point in the Highlands in a 2-1 defeat. In February 2017 he signed a new contract to remain with the club until the summer of 2019.

Richard's home jersey is kindly sponsored by Lewis & Mark Melloy, and his away jersey is kindly sponsored by TCTC Group.

Player Sponsorship is £315 (Inc. VAT) for the season - contact Roddy Grant on 01738 455000 for more information.
