Paul Paton

29-year-old holding midfielder Paul Paton joined St Johnstone in 2016 as one of many released by Dundee United in their mass exodus following relegation from the Pemiership.

Experienced midfielder Paul began his career at Queen’s Park before moving to Partick Thistle and following Jackie McNamara to Dundee United in 2013, where he made 75 appearances, scoring six times, typically from long range.

Paul captained the Arabs under Mixu Paatelianen and won three international caps for Northern Ireland during his time there, making his international debut in March 2014.

Fearless and committed in style, Paton made his debut for Saints in a preseason friendly in Belfast against Glentoran, where Saints won 2-1.

Paul's home jersey is kindly sponsored by Jim & Stewart Morris and his away jersey is kindly sponsored by LW Plumbing & Heating.
