Saints U20's 0-3 Rangers U20's

Wednesday 8th March

Saints U20's lost 3-0 to Rangers yesterday afternoon at the Excelsior Stadium, Airdrie, in the SPFL Development League, with the Gers' Liam Burt (2) and Jordan Houston the scorers.

Alistair Stevenson, Head of the St. Johnstone Youth Academy, said: "Within about the first twenty seconds Connor McLaren had a one-on-one with their goalkeeper and was unfortunate not to score. Fairly soon after that Rangers took the lead and it seemed to take the boys a little while to get over that start to the game.

"But although the first half wasn't the best, after the break we got back on top and had some really good spells but were just unable to create any clear-cut chances.

"However, a big positive was seeing Greg Hurst (pictured) come back into the side to play for sixty minutes after being out for several weeks. Other positives were seeing younger players Ciaran Brian (90 mins) and Jamie McKenzie (45 mins) get a lot of playing time."
