Saints appeal against 'simulation' cautions

20th September 2016

Saints have today lodged appeals with the SFA Compliance Officer against the cautions issued to Graham Cummins and Chris Kane in Saturday’s match against Hearts.

Both players were yellow carded for acts of ‘simulation’ but Manager Tommy Wright says: “We’ve viewed the footage of the incidents and having lodged our notice of our intention to appeal yesterday are making a full submission to the SFA today.  We fully support the game’s authorities as they attempt to clamp down on this aspect of the game but in both these cases we feel that the players have been wrongly cautioned.”

Simulation is the only cautionable offence which can be appealed against.
