New deal for Sinclair

The club is delighted to announce that goalkeeper Ross Sinclair has penned a contract extension that will keep the highly-rated youngster at McDiarmid Park until at least May 2021.

The local lad - who hails from Scone - is on-loan to BSC Glasgow in the Scottish Lowland League and is currently away with the Scotland U18 set-up for their fixtures with Uzbekistan and France this week.

Speaking about the new deal, Saints boss Tommy Wright has tipped the teenager to have a bright future in the game.

"Ross is someone who all the staff think very highly of," the manager said.

"He's worked his way into the Scotland U18 squad and is now playing regularly with BSC in the Lowland League which is great experience for him and will aid his development.

"He's technically very good and is comfortable with the ball at his feet. He's still only 17-years-old so will continue to develop physically."

Tommy continued: "We think he has a bright future in the game and it is great to get him tied down on longer contract.

"If he keeps his feet on the ground - and he is very much the sort of lad who will do that - then he has a bright career ahead of him."

Perth-born Ross has been involved in the club's youth set-up since 2003 when he joined from local side Scone Thistle. He is part of the Scotland U18 squad which will face Uzbekistan this afternoon, before taking on France on Friday.
