Kilmarnock U20s 6-3 Saints U20s

Tuesday 7th November

Saints Under 20s lost 6-3 to Kilmarnock in a Development League fixture at Rugby Park this evening.

The hosts took the lead in the first minute when Alex Samizadeh headed home from a Josh Jeffries' corner.

Saints though were level shortly after when Denny Johnstone produced a clever finish to round of a neat move by Alex Cleland’s side.

Kilmarnock though regained the lead through a Daniel Higgins free kick. The home side would then go in at half time with a two-goal advantage as a Will Graham strike from distance beat Saints keeper Ben Mackenzie.

Saints fought back after the restart through Craig Thomson. However, the fight back didn’t last for long as Innes Cameron got a fourth for Killie.

Another fine shot from distance saw Graham grab his second of the evening before Cameron claimed his second and Killie’s sixth of the evening with a tap in.

Ally Gilchrist got a third for Saints late on when he bundled the ball into the net after keeper Curtis Lyle was unable to hold the initial shot. However, it was too little, too late for the young Saints.
