Greg Hurst joins Berwick on loan

23rd August 2016

19-year-old forward goes on a Development Loan to League Two Berwick Rangers.

Striker Greg Hurst has joined Berwick Rangers on a Development Loan until January.

The 19 year old has caught the eye in Development League football since joining from Stirling Albion a year ago and has been named in the first team matchday squad on a few occasions, he came off the bench twice last season to feature against Aberdeen and Hearts, and the move to the League Two side will allow him to continue his development as a player.

The loan allows Greg to continue playing Development League football for Saints whilst with the Shielfield Park side.

The Stirling-born forward said, "I think it's a great move for me to go to Berwick and try and prove to the manager that I can score goals. Hopefully when I come back he'll consider me for the first team."

He added, "I'm pleased it's a Development loan as it allows me to come back and play for the U20's. At my age I just want to be playing football all the time and this gives me an opportunity to do that. I've seen other U20's players go on loan last season and they've come back stronger and more experienced so I want to have that as well."
