Football Business Awards 2018

19th September 2018

Wednesday 19 September 2018

The club is delighted to announce that we have been nominated in not one, but two categories at the Football Business Awards 2018!

The Football Business Awards will take place on November 22nd in London, and St. Johnstone Football Club has been nominated in the following categories:

  • Best Club Marketing Initiative (non-English Premier League)
  • Best Football Club Hospitality

The Marketing Initiative we have been nominated for is our 'Paint it Blue' campaign which was aimed at increasing the attendances in our SSE Family Ormond Stand and among young supporters in general.

The game chosen to launch the campaign was against Hamilton Accies on 28th January, and competitions were arranged with schools to increase interest as well as that famous YouTube video - a link to which you'll find here - which went viral among Scottish football fans and attracted interest from national press.

The city really got behind the initiative including some local shops and Perth was a sea of blue. The campaign was a big success and the rise in attendances among young supporters proved this.

For the 2018/19 season, sales of Season Tickets to U21s has risen by 9%. We have also added lots of fun activities and games for kids coming along to our SSE Family Ormond Stand which has attracted more families to come along to games.

The second category that the club has been shortlisted for is the award for Best Football Club Hospitality. St. Johnstone Football Club has previously finished third in this category and we're delighted to have our fantastic hospitality offering recognised once again.

You can find out more about our award-winning Match Day Hospitality packages by clicking here.

Being recognised once again for this award is a testament to the kitchen and waiting staff at McDiarmid Park, who do an incredible job at making sure our Hospitality guests enjoy the perfect experience.

Roll on November 22nd!
