Associate Director, club legend and Hall of Fame member Roddy Grant has today officially opened brand new show flats in Muirton named in his honour.

The Grant building joins a selection of new homes by Urban Union Ltd in the Muirton Living development which have been named after Saints legends via a public vote, with others including Willie Coburn, Dave Mackay and Steven Anderson honoured.

Roddy, who made 291 appearances for the club scoring 89 goals, attended a special event at the development this afternoon to officially open the show flat.

Speaking to the club's official website at the opening this afternoon, the former Saints striker said it was an honour to have been recognised in the new development just a stone's throw away from old Muirton Park.

"It's very different," Roddy said, "and it was very unexpected but it's a tremendous honour for me.

"I've been in to look around the flats today and I think they're excellent and finished to a high standard - the development as a whole looks great.

"It's even more special that it was voted for by the people Perth so it's a great accolade and I'm delighted to have been invited down here for the official opening.

"The club has always been part of the community and the other guys that have had flats named after them are all St. Johnstone greats. I'm just honoured to be one of the players recognised in this way."
