Saints U20s defeated their Falkirk counterparts 2-0 at The Falkirk Stadium this evening. Ally McCann, who is celebrating his 18th birthday today, gave the young Saints the lead on 4 minutes when his shot took a wicked deflection before finding the bottom corner of the net. Then a minute later it was almost 2-0 as Craig Thomson was denied by a super save by Brett Young in the Bairns goal.

The hosts almost drew level on 6 minutes when Mark Finlayson’s effort hit the bar and then 2 minutes later the action switched to the other end as this time Craig Thomson’s effort hit the post, after a quick break by Saints.

On the half hour mark Jason Jarvis had a shot from distance and then a minute later Rory Loy broke down the right before cutting the ball back into the box however, the hosts couldn’t take advantage as the danger was cleared.

On 52 minutes Young made another great save to deny Saints. However, there was nothing he could do on 67 minutes as Shaun Struthers doubled Saints advantage after another quick break.

Falirk then had Cieran Dunne sent off with 15 minutes remaining to end the match as a contest.
