Easton backs Zander Clark for Scotland call up

Saints defender Brian Easton has backed teammate Zander Clark for a call up to the national side, days after missing out on making Gordon Strachan's latest squad to take on Lithuania and Slovakia in the upcoming World Cup qualifiers.

Speaking after Saturday's 2-0 win at Ross County, the left-back said: "I've been saying to him since the last international break that he'd been in with a great shout of being called up.

"I'm a little bit surprised that it hasn't happened but it will happen eventually. When you look at Zander he just looks tailor-made to be a goalkeeper: with a brilliant frame, great shot-stopper, he's agile and his kicking's fantastic. He's got everything.

"He'll go really far in the game, no doubt about it. While he's playing here it's a really good thing for us."
