Saints Under 20s recorded an impressive win this evening as they defeated Dundee Under 20s 5-0 at Links Park. Callum Hendry opened the scoring on 11 minutes when he skipped past three Dundee defenders before slotting the ball low into the corner of the net. Saints then doubled their advantage on 20 minutes as they hit The Dee on the break before Hendry unleashed a curling strike from 15 yards for his second of the evening.

Saints continued to press as Shaun Struthers and Jamie Docherty both had shots at goal either side of the half hour mark. Then on 43 minutes Hendry completed his hat trick as he did well to get away from two Dundee defenders before smartly firing a shot past Kyle Gourlay in the Dundee goal.

It got even better for Alex Cleland’s side right on half time as the young Saints got a fourth goal courtesy of a Kyle McClean volley from the edge of the box.

Saints were now well in control and they wrapped the match up on 81 minutes as Struthers won the ball high up the pitch before finding the back of the net from a tight angle.

Overall, it was a great evening at the office for Alex Cleland and his young side. The result this evening moves Saints up to 10th place in the Development League with 12 points.
