ONE YEAR CONTRACT EXTENSION FOR CAPTAIN MACKAY

Saints have today received another boost with the news that Captain Dave Mackay has signed a one year contract extension, taking him through to May 2017.

A Saints player since signing from Livingston in May 2009, Dave has been at the heart of our successes in recent times, not least becoming the first St Johnstone player to lift a major national trophy.

Of the news, Manager Tommy Wright says: “I’m delighted that Dave has signed for next season. He has consistently been one of the best players at the club and given his length of service I would argue that he is one the club’s best ever players.

“He’s been a captain on and off the pitch. His form since coming back from his summer surgery has been excellent and we were pleased to sit down and get an extension agreed.”
