Normal service is resumed this weekend as the Ladbrokes Premiership returns to action after the international break.

Coming to Perth on Saturday are 4th placed Hamilton Academical who have made an impressive opening to the league season so far with 10 points from their opening 5 matches, winning the last 3 matches is a row.

Their record against St. Johnstone last season was very favourable picking up 7 points from 3 matches thanks to back-to-back 1-0 wins in Hamilton and Perth, before the sides shared the spoils at New Douglas Park when Brian Graham scored a 72nd minute equaliser in a 1-1 draw back in April.

Since the 1924/25 season the two sides have matched up a total of 62 times in Perth with the Saints coming out on top on 33 occasions, drawing 16 times and losing 13. Overall St. Johnstone hold the balance with 51 wins, 30 draws and 43 losses. The last win for the Perth men came on 24th September 2013 in South Lanarkshire thanks to a Stevie May double and a late Gwion Edwards lob in the Scottish League Cup.

Tommy Wright should have a full squad to choose from with Steven Anderson, who has been out injured since 9th July, back in contention having featured in back-to-back Development team matches.

Tomorrow will also be the first opportunity for Tommy to play loan-signing Darnell Fisher, who was ineligible to play against his parent club Celtic on the Saturday before the international break.

The Saints gaffer said: “I think our performances have been good which is the main thing. So I’m not too concerned.

“I know that we haven’t kept enough clean sheets, which is not like us. But we’re hoping to win the next game and the one after that and go on a run.”
