FRIENDLY: GLENAVON 1-1 SAINTS

26th July 2016

Saints ended their mini tour of Northern Ireland unbeaten by drawing 1-1 with Glenavon in last night’s match at Mourneview Park.

Chris Kane scored on 72 minutes for St. Johnstone and it would have proved the match winner had the hosts not scored an injury time penalty through Kevin Braniff.

It was another opportunity for manager Tommy Wright to provide his players with valuable match time ahead of next week’s trip to Armenia in the Europa League qualifiers.

In goal for Glenavon was former Saintee Jonny Tuffey who was at McDiarmid Park in season 2012/13.

St. Johnstone line up: Clark (Hurst 72), Shaughnessy (Gordon 63), Scobbie, Caddis (Easton 46), McKay (Comrie 63), Rodger, O’Halloran (McLaren 63), Wotherspoon (c) (McCawl 78), Kane, Cummins (Sutton 63), Thomson. Subs: Hurst, Easton, Gordon, McCawl, Comrie, Sutton, McLaren, Lappin
