SAINTS SIGN STRIKER CUMMINS

26th July 2016

Saints have added to their squad their squad today with the signing of striker Graham Cummins.

The 27 year old, born in Reading but brought up in Ireland, made his name with Cobh Ramblers, Waterford United and Cork City before moving to Preston North End in 2012 and following a loan spell with Rochdale he has spent the season just ended with Exeter City where he played 36 league games, scoring 7 goals.

Graham has signed a one-year deal and Tommy Wright says of the signing: “I know quite a bit about him and he trained with us towards the end of the season and I want him on board. He scored a lot of goals for Cork City before a move to Preston North End but he didn’t play as much as he would have liked there.

Meanwhile, the manager today confirmed that Gary Miller and James McFadden have not been offered new deals.

Tommy says: “Gary has been an important member of the squad for me and has played his part in the success we have had but with Joe Shaughnessy and Brad McKay coming in I feel it’s time to freshen things up at the back.

“Faddy came in at an important time of the campaign and his experience has been a huge help to us both on and off the park.”
