The St Johnstone under 20’s side will play their final match of the season on Tuesday against local rivals Dundee.

Only a point separates these two sides in the league, Dundee are in 10th place on 40 points whilst Saints are 11th with 39 points.

Young winger, Connor McLaren said:

“It will be a good game but it’s always a tough game against them, they play direct. I’m looking forward to it”.

“We played them at the start of the season, it finished 1-1, it was just a scrappy game at Arbroath because it’s right next to the sea, so the wind didn’t help”.

Connor reflected on the campaign as a whole:

“We started slow but we’ve come into it and we’re looking to just finish strong and get a last win, just to top it off”.

“I play on the wing, I’ve been out injured for a couple of weeks now but I’m looking to come back this week. I’ve played most games this season. I’ve got another year on my contract and I’m looking to try and break through”.

Midfielder, Brodie Gray also had his say on how the season has gone for Saints and himself:

“It’s been very good, it’s been a learning process and I’ve enjoyed all of it. The Celtic games we have played this season have been very good, playing against (Tom) Rogic and (Derk) Boerrigter. Aberdeen also, they had Barry Robson and Willo Flood playing. I would say those two have been the hardest games of the season. Also, Hamilton have a very good youth team”.

“I’ve played about half of the games this season, I’ve been on the bench a lot but it’s my first year, I‘ve enjoyed it”.

“It’s good banter in the changing room with all the boys, it’s a good laugh. I’ve got another year so hopefully next season I can push on and become more of a regular in the under 20’s, that’s my aim”.

“I’ve been at Saints since I was 12 years old, so the club does mean a lot to me and I’m very grateful to them”.
